We worked with the pupils to write and visualize a story which will connect them to their new environment by narrating past legends of the local area and by envisioning children's thoughts and dreams on their future school...
"...Past memories, myths and legends are cut into old tree trunk…
and growing into its branches are the dreams and the hopes of the sixteen children who one day sat down around the old tree trunk to talk about the construction of their new Secondary School...". The hadwritten tree was presented as an art piece to be dispayed at the entrance of the new secondary school.
Project developed for the the Young Design 05/06 program set by the Sorrell Foundation as a further development of the model "Joinedupdesignforschool".
The program engages students of design and architecture as consultants for "client teams of pupils" to address design issues in their schools.
